Malam Muda Mudi (Youth Night) – New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Jakarta, Indonesia

Over a million visitors celebrated the start of 2024 in Jakarta City, enjoying performances by local artists, fireworks, a drone show, and multiple fountain shows at the Selamat Datang Monument.

LASERVISION played a key role counting down to the new year – creating, installing, and producing the fountain shows for the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

We installed four fountains at the monument, each stretching 30m wide by 12m high. And in conjunction with City Vision Indonesia, we produced culturally fit and entertaining shows that were projected onto the water screens throughout the evening.

Wherever your location, we create unique and unforgettable experiences. We harness the power of light, water, fire, and other high-impact mediums to evoke the senses, connect audiences with their environments, and create enduring memories. Our world-class entertainment solutions and client-first ethos are paramount in why we are celebrating our 40th year in 2024.

Sky Symphony awakens the skies above the Birrarung

Sky Symphony

A symphonic sound and light installation beaming across the shimmering Yarra

For five nights only, Wednesday 11 October – Sunday 15 October, 2023, Sky Symphony illuminates and radiates across the Yarra River, Melbourne.

An imaginative and contemplative spectacle, Sky Symphony is a free, family-friendly digital art installation. The brainchild of Shaun Rigney, it marries his second symphony Portraits of the Air, and the imagery upon which it was inspired, with LASERVISION’s sound and light expertise to visually project the symphony across the Yarra.

“I was thinking about a way of presenting the music and images when I saw LASERVISION’s work on the internet. It blew my mind. They were making these astounding shows projecting lasers onto water screens. And I realised: our images are made of light and air and water … and here is a company using the same materials as their medium! I had to find a way to bring them together,” says Shaun Rigney.

To bring Shaun’s symphony to life, LASERVISION is utilsing a large water screen and a state-of-the-art projector, combined with an array of jets, lasers, lighting and audio equipment. The symphony, Portraits of the Air, was recorded by Orchestra Victoria and conducted by Nicholas Buc. Shaun Rigney remarks, “The composition … was strongly influenced by the photographs. I saw striking colours, exquisite patterns, subtle textures and moody transitions – all elements that I could translate into music.”

Sky Symphony is a part of the Melbourne Fringe program and is also made possible by the Victorian Government and City of Melbourne. Lord Mayor Sally Capp comments, “We know a consistent and exciting events calendar provides city business owners with a huge boost – pumping millions into the local economy and helping to create predictability for traders. Not only do evening activations illuminate our city, but they also electrify our night-time economy. We’re proud to celebrate homegrown creatives through our Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund, and can’t wait to see this free, family-friendly experience light up Melbourne this October.”

Sky Symphony features a 12-minute display on loop every 20 minutes. The first session begins at 8pm and the last session begins at 10:40pm. The best viewing position is located at the eastern end of Yarra Promenade, adjacent to Queens Bridge. Learn more about the installation by visiting Sky Symphony

You can follow the journey via Facebook @SkySymphonyMelbourne and Instagram @SkySymphonyMelbourne.

Sky Symphony is supported through the Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund – a $200 million partnership of the Victorian Government and the City of Melbourne.

LASERVISION’s ‘AURORA’ Light Show a Tourism Beacon in Albury

Tens-of-thousands Flock to Albury Botanic Gardens to see AURORA – an immersive, outdoor journey

July 26, 2022: After an extremely popular showing, the inaugural Luna Light Journey, ‘AURORA’, wrapped up on Saturday, July 23, after a 4-week run over the school holidays. AURORA, an outdoor, journey-style light show, transformed the Albury Botanic Gardens and revealed nature’s vibrant spirit in a kaleidoscope of colours with the use of lasers, holograms, vivid lighting, digital artistry, immersive soundscapes, and many other sensory mediums.

Over 60,000 patrons from the community and around the region attended the nightly light show and attracted a wide demographic of audience members. From kids and families to adults young and old, AURORA was a delight for everyone who visited the gardens.

The month-long, nightly light show was even extended due to the popular demand and community response to keep the show going, especially for those that may have missed out while travelling during the school holidays.

AURORA

“Together with AlburyCity Council, we were very happy to extend the show for an additional week,” said Matthew Tuey, Director of Marketing at LASERVISION. “The overwhelming response from the community, social media, local F&B and hospitality providers made it clear there was significant demand for this show. It was the talk of the town and region and we had many patrons driving up to 5 hours away to see ‘AURORA’. It was humbling to hear the positive feedback and reviews of our show and we were happy to accommodate the extension.”

AURORA

The “Tree of Life” in AURORA was a perfect Instagrammable moment.

AlburyCity Mayor Kylie King said she was excited to see so many in the community embrace this unique event, especially during the colder months.

“We were over the moon to see so many people grabbing their winter coats and coming to see our iconic Botanic Gardens in a new light.”

“The spectacular turnout shows us that our community is keen to see events happening across all seasons. It was also a great opportunity to bring visitors from further afield to spend time in our beautiful city.”

“We’re super excited for LASERVISION’s return next year after such popular demand!” Mayor King said.

After such a successful run, AURORA is set to return to Albury next winter in 2023. Follow LASERVISION on Facebook and Instagram @LaservisionMegaMedia to stay up to date with the latest news for Aurora in 2023, when tickets will be released and special giveaways for the next AURORA.

Coast to Coast – Laservision’s Spectacular Light, Water & Sound Shows

Spanning from the East to the West Coast of Australia, LASERVISION creates spectacular, immersive experiences for Australia Day 2021.

January 26th, 2021: Australia was aglow from coast to coast for Australia Day with LASERVISION’s latest Water, Light and Sound show events on display in Wollongong, NSW and Mandurah, WA. Created for Australia Day night-time celebrations for Wollongong and Mandurah City Councils, the spectacular lighting events entertained thousands of spectators from the 23rd to the 26th of January.

MANDURAH, WA

Over a 4-day period, audiences in Mandurah were entertained with a spectacular show with customised content celebrating the story and culture of the local community. The 15-minute experiences incorporated a vast array of mediums including – high powered lasers, projection technologies, moving-head fountains, intelligent lighting, special effects and customised water screens spanning 140 meters in length. The show ran for multiple nights, entertaining audiences located on both sides of the Eastern and Western foreshores of Mandjar Bay.

WOLLONGONG, NSW

Three unique, simultaneous activations were created for the Wollongong community. Spanning from North in Nicholson Park to the South at Kully Bay Park, LASERVISION created three audience experiences providing the Illawarra region with a unique COVID-safe offering to celebrate Australia Day. The lighting installations at Nicholson Park and Kully Bay Park were complemented by a Light, Laser, Water and Sound Experience in Belmore Basin. The hour-long show was choregraphed to a bespoke soundtrack and incorporated several high-powered lasers, intelligent lights and a floating fountain spanning 80 meters across the bay. To encourage social distancing the choreographed sound score was transmitted via FM frequency so audiences could experience the show from the comfort of their vehicles at dedicated viewing locations around the area.

“With ever-changing COVID safety measures and boarder restrictions implemented across the states and territories the logistical challenge of getting our team into WA from NSW as well as all of our equipment was extremely challenging,” said Mr Shannon Brooks, CEO of LASERVISION.

“Luckily, we were able to enlist the help of a number of local experts to support our on-the-ground team in WA. Working remotely, developing creative content, programming and creating the desired outcome with a short lead time is challenging enough, throw on-top of this, 14-day quarantine periods, changing COVID restrictions, and disruptions to logistical networks would seem all but impossible to surmount, however, the LASERVISION team lifted to the challenge and delivered a spectacular performance for the Mandurah community in record time. We are extremely grateful for the support provided by the City of Mandurah and our long-time partners Panasonic in helping us achieve such an amazing outcome.

‘Light Up Orange,’ NYE Celebration Rings in the New Year with Spectacular LASER, Light & Sound Show

December 31st, 2020: LASERVISION wowed audiences with their newest dazzling LASER and Light display for ‘Light Up Orange,’ a new event aimed at creating a safer, more immersive and environmentally friendly NYE celebration.

This modern sensory experience was created for the New Year’s Eve celebration entertaining thousands of community spectators at Wayde Park, Orange, NSW. The 16-minute light spectacular was a huge success with thousands watching from the venue as well as thousands more from the Live Stream that was broadcasted due to the event being sold out and to provide a safe environment during COVID restrictions.

The NYE event featured local food providers, live music, and indigenous performances. As the crowds gathered, ‘Light Up Orange’ began with a Welcome to Country and featured first peoples traditional dance and performances, followed by the main light show event.

“We were so excited to produce this incredible show for Orange and the surrounding communities in a year that has been challenging for all. We are all in need of a little celebration and look forward to the New Year,” says Mr Shannon Brooks, CEO of LASERVISION.

“We are also very proud and fortunate to be producing incredible events around Australia and the World during times like these. Being able to offer incredible, unique, COVID safe entertainment experiences to our local communities, who need live entertainment more than ever these days, is truly an honour,” continued Brooks.

The ‘Light Up Orange’ light show featured a 16-minutes, 360-degree, immersive display incorporating high-intensity beam lights and powerful LASERs that covered the venue and audience with dazzling effects synchronised to an epic soundtrack ringing in the New Year. It was proudly sponsored by Kennards Hire and Hosted by Light Up Central West, a not-for-profit group of local business representatives that support the Central West communities.

“There was plenty of challenges to put this event on . . .” said Mr Craig McMahon, Regional Manager for Kennards Hire. “. . . massive time restraints, COVID compliance requirements and live streaming set up, all of which LASERVISION remained flexible to help us deliver an amazing event for the community.”

With recent COVID restrictions and concerns surrounding NYE celebrations around NSW, ‘Light Up Orange’ was an entirely new concept incorporating a 360-degree experience immersing the audience a unique and spectacular display of laser, lights, special effects and sound all experienced in a COVID safe environment adhering to strict social distancing protocols.

A live broadcast was streamed to YouTube for community members who were unable to acquire tickets due to the sold-out event and still wanted to celebrate NYE with an array of lights and LASERs.

Orange Mayor Reg Kidd congratulated the organisers for getting the New Year’s Eve party off the ground and thanked them for persisting with planning amid the uncertainty of COVID-19 restrictions.
