Combining immersive lighting, lasers, projection, interactive installations, special effects and sound, Eclipse: In Bloom transformed the historic Geelong Botanic Gardens into a spectacular illuminated nighttime journey during winter 2026.
The family-friendly Luna Light Journey invited audiences to discover a hidden nocturnal world inspired by the biodiversity of the Gardens. Glowing canopies, native wildflowers, pollinators and large-scale installations brought the landscape to life through colour, movement and immersive technology.
Running from 27 June to 26 July 2026, Eclipse: In Bloom welcomed 62,000+ visitors, creating a new reason for locals and visitors to experience Geelong and its Botanic Gardens after dark.
Laservision partnered with the City of Greater Geelong to create and deliver the large-scale immersive experience, with installations and storytelling specifically designed around the landscape, biodiversity and botanical identity of the Gardens.

Laservision created Eclipse: In Bloom around the story of a garden awakening after sunset, revealing a hidden nocturnal world where native flora, pollinators and ecosystems come alive through light, colour and sound.
Inspired by the biodiversity of Geelong Botanic Gardens, guests journeyed through glowing habitats, blooming landscapes, native wildflowers and changing seasons, with the iconic Blue Banded Bee woven into the experience.
From delicate illuminated environments to large-scale installations, the journey celebrated the relationship between nature, light and imagination, transforming the familiar Gardens into an entirely different world after dark.
Delivering a large-scale immersive experience within the historic Geelong Botanic Gardens required extensive planning, technical expertise and careful integration with the existing environment.
Laservision’s Operations and Technical teams, working in partnership with the City of Greater Geelong, were responsible for delivering and maintaining Eclipse: In Bloom throughout its month-long winter season.
The production was specifically designed around the site, with installations, pacing and narrative elements tailored to the Gardens rather than simply transferring an existing light show into the location. Careful planning was also required to protect the existing flora and surrounding ecosystem while installing and operating large-scale technical infrastructure.
Across the season, 62,000+ visitors experienced Eclipse: In Bloom, demonstrating how immersive storytelling, technology and destination partnerships can activate public spaces and encourage audiences to experience familiar places in an entirely new way.
