The City of Cairns lights up in celebration of where the rainforest meets the reef in Reef Lights Cairns – an awe-inspiring and immersive sensory light experience along the Esplanade and Lagoon.
Combining two World Heritage-listed icons, the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest, Laservision returns to celebrate the interconnection of these two magical worlds as part of Cairns Festival, 2023.
‘Reef Lights’ is an extraordinary journey for all guests, incorporating innovative technologies, vibrant colours, captivating lasers, water screens, fountains, digital artworks and enchanting soundscapes.
The Luna Light Journey also makes a dramatic statement about Cairns, its unique culture and its strong connection to two of Australia’s most incredible natural wonders, the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest.

Cairns Festival is the biggest arts and culture event on the Cairns calendar. In 2023, Laservision is celebrating our second consecutive year of producing this acclaimed digital art, nighttime spectacular for Cairns Festival in partnership with Cairns City Council.
