At nightfall, Canvas of Cairns invites visitors to experience the 2025 Cairns Festival in a whole new light.
An original production – fountains, lasers, interactive projections and light sculptures paint vivid scenes across the festival, illuminating the dark with brilliant colour.
The nightly Lagoon water show spectacular, Fragments of Light transports attendees to a cosmic universe, where light fractures into form and 3D patterns project across the water. While new immersive zones see ephemeral and hypnotic installations on the Esplanade, and a vibrant interactive projection in the shallows of the Lagoon.
Canvas of Cairns also presents distinct and compelling visual narratives, created in collaboration with leading artists, including striking visuals of The Story of the Rainbow Serpent by distinguished artist Connie Rovina.
This year, gather your friends and family and go on a reimagined adventure through light and sound at the 2025 Cairns Festival.
