The Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) building was designed by world renowned British architect Norman Foster. At the time of completion in November of 1985, the HSBC building was the most expensive building in the world.
Two decades later Laservision was entrusted to design the external lighting for this architectural masterpiece.
The HSBC lighting plan incorporated 716 intelligent lights including 450 colour changing fluorescent fixtures in the glass stairwells, Martin Exterior 600’s and 200 fixtures on five levels, 8 Search lights and over one kilometre of LED lighting around the top of the building.
Intelligent lighting is distributed across six sections of the building.
As a result the HSBC building is now recognised as one of the key players in Hong Kong’s ‘Symphony of Lights.’
