Projection Mapping – Saudi National Day Celebrations in Riyadh
Alongside famous international music acts from the GCC region and world-renowned theatrical producer Cirque du Soleil, LASERVISION was engaged to provide their world record-setting projection-mapping expertise and technologies for KSA’s National Day celebrations in Riyadh.
LASERVISION’s stunning, 7000 square metre projection show beamed onto the distinctive Samba Financial Group Headquarters in the heart of Financial Plaza. The 40-storey tower is the centrepiece of Riyadh’s new King Abdullah Financial District and features an innovative three-dimensional diamond façade designed by Foster and Partners. Although the complex and unique aesthetic of the architecture provided an intricate canvas for LASERVISION to create upon, it also presented a challenge as an all-glass surface can drastically hinder a projection mapping display—leading to poor video quality and washed out colours. However, with their expert knowledge in skyscraper-sized projections and four-decades of entertainment innovation, the LASERVISION team were able to provide a solution without altering or changing the unique aesthetics of the building—providing a bold, bright and clear image across the city.

It is estimated that the customised projection mapping show reached over 1 million motorists travelling near and around the financial district.
