LASERVISION TRANSFORMS CAIRNS ESPLANADE INTO IMMERSIVE UNDERWATER WORLD
LASERVISION’s Spectacular Luna Light Journeys Continue to Amaze Audiences and Drive Overnight Visitation with ‘Reef Light,’ as Part of Cairns Festival.
Luna Light Journeys continue to drive increases in tourism with unique and exciting immersive entertainment experiences for local communities around Australia. The perfect family experience and reason to enjoy the outdoors after sundown, ‘Reef Light’ a key new component of the annual Cairns Festival, was another shining example of LASERVISION’s Luna Light Journey offering, and their fifth successful journey experience in Australia thus far.
From the 26th of August to the 4th of September, the annual, 10-day Cairns Festival enjoyed its Diamond Jubilee of celebrating arts and culture in the tropics. To celebrate the importance of the Great Barrier Reef— one of the seven wonders of the natural world—LASERVISION was chosen to bring their unique light journey experiences and their world-renowned water, light and sound spectaculars.
LASERVISION transformed the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon and over 30,000m2 of Esplanade parkland into a virtual “under-the-sea” experience, immersing audiences in impressive light displays and kaleidoscopes of colour. From floating holograms of sea turtles and jellyfish to beautiful pulsing bioluminescence and jellyfish gardens bathed in laser waves, LASERVISION’s incredible performance wow’d visitors drawn to the area in celebration of the Great Barrier Reef.
Cairns Mayor, Bob Manning, said the community embraced the event despite some wet weather and still was the “largest festival we’ve ever produced, and the positive response from the local community has been overwhelming”
